Guilders in the (Big Brother) House!

  • Jun. 18th, 2008 at 11:23 AM

As of press time (yuck, very PR Writer mode again), there are four Guilders within the PBB/PDA staff.

There's Keina, of course, the Segment Producer. (I still owe you a burge,  Keina!)

Then I was hired last March as a PR Writer.

Then Christer became the new Uber/Ubreture Promo Writer early this month.

And just last night, Yya was hired as a co-pilot. (You owe me a burger, Yya!)

Ang dami na namin! Hahaha...:))

Sayang, di ko naabutan ang favorite BrodGuild founding member ko (at ng majority)... Theodore Boborol!:)

Let's go Guilders! Who's going on board the PBB/PDA team next? Hahaha...:)

Cook Wins!

  • May. 21st, 2008 at 10:07 PM

Yeah baby! Woohoo!

After yesterday's show and the not-so good reviews from the judges (at least compared to those of the younger David's), I was positive that Archuleta would win.

I even commented on Tel's blog that Cook could just make bawi with his post-Idol albums, which, I'm sure, a lot of people will support.

So it was a pleasant surprise for me when Cook was declared this season's winner! I even jumped for crying out loud! Hahaha...

Come to think of it, this is the very first time that my bet actually won! Yey!

Cook fans, rejoice! Come on, come on!:)

Sick-O

  • Apr. 15th, 2008 at 11:58 PM

Piercing headcahe and fever. Pfffssssss.

Sucky way to get a day off from writing press releases (which, by the way, I like doing).

Would have loved it more if I was too hung over to go to work.

¡Odio ser enfermo!

Bracing Myself

  • Mar. 19th, 2008 at 9:00 AM

Something unexpected came up and it is not good. This was the very least of my worries and it friggin’ exploded in my face.

This is the worst thing I’ve been in. It still feels like I’m about to be shaken awake from a very bad dream.

Anyway, I did what I was advised to do and I know that it's my last resort. It is now out of my hands.

All I can do now is hope (and pray) for the best. A friend told me that she is positive that things will work out for the best. What is the best? What if the best is the very opposite of what I want?

I am just frustrated right now. And angry. And scared.

This sucks. BIG time.

Thanks Aie for making my day!:)

  • Mar. 13th, 2008 at 8:42 AM

Funny how my mood made a 360-degree turn after seeing two very short videos of a certain Lady Maroon.

She gets the rebound... and she scores!

Thanks, Aie.

(I just had to post this. Hahaha)

Freaky Freak Accident

  • Mar. 5th, 2008 at 7:57 AM

My Mom and I just got home from an auto shop. We were there because we had to have Buknoy repaired, for the nth time. Buknoy, being an old car that he is, has been acting up for the past weeks. Among the problems with the radiator, the aircon and the battery, the problem I had with him today definitely takes the cake.

I drove Buknoy to UP without any trouble at all. Zero. Zilch. Nil. Nada. I helped out in the preparations for Guild's Exhibit Launch and Grand Pakain. When it was time to get the food for the pakain, I volunteered to drive Meline and Mara to SC where we had our viands cooked. That's when IT happened.

Halfway through the parking lot, Buknoy broke down. I started him up again and he did. But the thing was, his engine would die down whenever I'd release the gas. Meline and Mara just rode with Therese and Yya and I was left to see what's wrong with Buknoy. After several attempts, I was able to park him. But I still didn't know what was wrong with him. I decided to just let him be for a while. I went back in and carried on with my org duties.

After everything was over, I went down to check on Buknoy. There at the guard's post was Kuya Rommel, Kai's driver. I immediately asked him to take a look at Buknoy hoping that he could get his engine to keep on going. He said that the carburator was in a bad shape and that he'd just adjust a couple of wires or something so that I could at least get him home. After a couple of minutes, Buknoy reved up and Kuya Rommel said I was good to go. I thanked him profusely and left UP praying that Buknoy wouldn't break down along the way. He did, unfortunately.

I was already on Quezon Ave, about to make a U-turn, when Buknoy started emitting strange sounds. His RPM was also going up like crazy. I hurriedly pressed hazard, turned the ignition off and by hand, motioned for the cars behind me to overtake. The freaky thing was that the engine kept on reving up even after I took the key out of the keyhole! Before I could pull up the handbreak, Buknoy moved forward on his own and hit a wheel of a trailer truck! Crash!

I got out and checked the damages. Thankfully, Buknoy just got a little dent while the truck got none. Thank God, wheels are made of rubber! The driver of the truck asked me if I didn't see him overtake me. I was like, "Kuya umandar po mag-isa. Pinatay ko na po yan, eto nga po yung susi o!" He checked Buknoy out and said, "Naku, baka sumabog yan!" Looking back, it must have been a very funny scene as I got all panicky and blurted, "Talaga? Alam niyo po ba paano patigilin yan? Manghila kayo ng wire!" It turned out that the truck just got out of the lot beside Parco, directly in front of the U-Turn slot. They called their boss and he assured me that the car wouldn't blow up. After about two minutes, Buknoy finally decided to calm down. The people from the lot beside Parco pushed Buknoy to safety. After parking inside the lot, I called up my Mom who was in her office and my Dad who's in Cagayan. I told them what happened and they instructed me to wait for my Mom. I got really anxious while waiting so I called three friends up. I specifically called people who were with me the last and those who texted me when I was waiting for my Mom. I told them what happened and I really calmed down after. So thanks Yza, Yya + Therese, and Christer.

To cut the very long story short, my Mom arrived and after making sure I was okay, went with me to get a mechanic. We got the car to the shop and went home.

I was really shaken by what happened and it took some time to wear it off. Grabe, freak accidents do happen. Buti na lang nothing serious happened. Whew.

So to my friends out there who drive, ingat lagi. You guys may be good drivers but anything can happen when it is the car that's at fault. And call your parents up as soon as the first sign of trouble arises. What I did was wrong, not calling them when I was having a difficulty starting Buknoy up. Dun pa lang, dapat sinabihan ko na sila.

At least I learned a few lessons today.

20 Things

  • Jan. 28th, 2008 at 7:31 PM

*Got this from Kai. This, I think, is actually a good way of letting things out. Cathartic!:)*

List (20) things you want to say to 20 people but know you never will. Don't say who they are.

1. I'm sorry for not saying sorry.

2. You make me smile.

3. I frggin' hate your smug face.

4. I hate how you speak. Can't you, like, take speech lessons?

5. You're a user and that's why you find yourself with no friends.

6. How come we don't even bump into each other anymore when we practically go to the same building everyday?

7. You are such a good friend and I love you for that.

8. I miss the times when I would admire you from afar.

9. Your grammar is repulsive, I swear.

10. Dude, you're not cool. Stop acting like you are.

11. I think you're two-faced.

12. You're actually okay. First impressions may last but they really don't matter.

13. You are such a good influence on me.

14. Stop overanalyzing stuff. You're smart, I get it. You don't need to rub it in, you know.

15. I like you. I hope we get to know each other better.

16. I keep on thinking of the what-could-have-beens and I know you are, too. I just want you to know that I won't be the first one to acknowledge it out loud.

17. I wish you'd stop being a know-it-all even for just an hour.

18. I hate you and I don't know why.

19. I refuse to say that we're drifting apart.

20. You don't have to say sorry. You're forgiven.

I was supposed to watch Sweeney Todd with Danica, Aprille, and my brother today but something came up so it was postponed.

At 12:40 in the afternoon, these have happened so far:

I went to CMC to post the Y-Fi tarp...

Hung out a couple more minutes at the parking lot...

Went to Starbucks Quezon Ave...

And finally, I had my hair trimmed.:p

Cause I Just Had to Drink

  • Nov. 29th, 2007 at 11:10 AM

Just chugged down a glass of Baileys.

I was really looking forward to drinking with my friends tonight but I got trapped in the house because of a friggin' fever. And then the whole Makati thing happened, which resulted in the curfew from 12:00 midnight to 5:00 AM tomorrow.

Even if my fever was totally gone before dinner and even if I was itching to text my friends, I knew that we couldn't go out drinking anymore because of the curfew.

Oh well.

Point is, I just had to drink.

Nonsense post, I know. Haha...:p

I'm, at this very moment, glued to ABS-CBN's coverage of what's happening at the Manila Peninsula Hotel after Trillanes, Lim, and company stormed out of their hearing in Makati.

It's been, what, 4 hours after the news first broke and already, a lot of things have happened. Grabe! To flush out those in the hotel, tear gas has been thrown inside. Grabe lang yung makita mo yung mga tao, including Pinky Webb and Ces Drilon, na talagang nagtatakip ng mukha tapos si Pinky pa umuubo at hirap na magsalita!

Let's see where these things will lead to but I sure hope that nothing serious would happen. I know what's happening is really serious but I also know that nothing more than putting a stop to what's happening is warranted. Wala na sanang casualties.

Of NU 107.5 of Provincial Orgs

  • Nov. 19th, 2007 at 10:21 AM

So I was a guest for the pilot episode of NU 107.5's URock. (Trish was there, too. She was the guest co-host).

So I was briefed that there were consequences or questions that I'd have to go through before the actual interview that would revolve around BroadGuild.

So I thought it'd be a piece of cake.

So I thought.

Haha...

This is how it went. I was asked to choose between the letters "A" and "B." I chose the latter, even remarking that "B" is for "BroadGuild." Haha... The catch? "A" is for the consequences and "B" is for the questions that I had to answer truthfully. I was like, "Ok. Mani lang to."  But no! Some of the questions were actually tough, especially the last one.

The last question?  "What do you think is the corniest org in UP?" I was really in shock when they asked that! I was like, "P***ng I**, war lalabas dito!" Haha... So to buy time I said, "Definitely not from MassComm..." Ultimately, I ended up saying how I have never gotten the point of provincial orgs and that in my opinion, they're the answers to the question.

As soon as I stopped speaking, I saw how the band members of the guest bands from UP were reacting. Turned out a lot of them are from provincial orgs! Oh meehhnnn! I was also thinking how some of my friends are affiliated with provincial orgs! Waaahhh!

So this I have to say: I'm sorry if I offended anyone. It wasn't my intention to do that. I really had no choice. It was good that the band people were cool about it, as well as one texter who said that the point of provincial orgs is to provide a venue for homesick UP students. I respect that and it was just in the spirit of the game that I was forced to blurt that answer out. Again, I'm sorry. Peace tayo! Hope people form provincial orgs will continue to support BroadGuild and our activities.

Thanks to my friends who texted me and commented how good Trish and I were. Grabe kayo mambola! Haha... Dana, sorry naman kung blasting! Sobrang na-tense ako sa questions eh kaya I was speaking way louder than the usual.:p

It was really fun despite the provincial orgs part. I could get use to it --- guesting on radio shows, that is. Haha... George and Lia were really nice... and pretty.:)

And oh, I'm really glad I didn't choose "A." Sir Mico told me about the consequences that I would've done had I chosen it. One word: Grabe. Haha...

P.S. The video of everything that happened on the show will be posted on YouTube tomorrow afternoon. I'll post the link after I ask the Project Coordinator about it.:)
